About the work
NODUS I, a fanfare for eight trumpets and percussion, is dedicated to the memory of David Mason. An optional live version expands the trumpet section to ten players.
Aneel Soomary made the recorded version by playing all eight trumpet parts as overdubs. The first performance took place on 15 June 2013 at the International Trumpet Guild conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
