SPAM! Three Melodramas from my InBox

I receive a lot of spam mail. Most of it falls into a few remarkably persistent dramatic types. I decided to make composite texts from three of them rather than reproduce any single message: the business proposition, the God-fearing benefactor and the desperate Russian son.

The result is set to deliberately dramatic, film-like orchestral music. An actor can humanise the characters while also exposing their absurdity. Beneath the comedy is a subject worth discussing: online fraud and the human weaknesses — greed, sympathy, hope and desperation — on which it depends.
